ইউপি নির্বাচনে দ্বিতীয় পর্যায়ের তফসিল ঘোষণা

দেশের ৫২টি জেলার সবগুলোয় এবং পাঁচটি জেলার আংশিক ইউনিয়ন পরিষদে (ইউপি) নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। আগামী ৩১ মে থেকে ৫ জুলাই পর্যন্ত এসব জেলার তিন হাজার ৮১৩টি ইউপিতে ভোট গ্রহণ করা হবে।
প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার এ টি এম শামসুল হুদা আজ মঙ্গলবার নির্বাচন কমিশন কার্যালয়ে এ তফসিল ঘোষণা করেন।
ঘোষিত তফসিল অনুযায়ী, নির্বাচনে মনোনয়নপত্র দাখিল করা যাবে আগামী ৫ মে থেকে ৯ জুন পর্যন্ত। মনোনয়নপত্র বাছাই ৭ মে থেকে শুরু হয়ে চলবে ১১ জুন পর্যন্ত। মনোনয়নপত্র প্রত্যাহারের শেষ সময় ১৫ মে থেকে ১৯ জুন

সংবিধান সংশোধনে প্রস্তাবনা তৈরি করতে সংসদে প্রতিনিধিত্বকারী সব রাজনৈতিক দলের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করবে সংবিধান সংশোধনে গঠিত বিশেষ কমিটি। তবে সংসদে জামায়াতের দুটি আসন থাকলেও যুদ্ধাপরাধের দায়ে অভিযুক্ত হওয়ায় এ দলটিকে আলোচনা প্রক্রিয়া থেকে বাদ দেওয়া হয়েছে। এর বাইরে সংবিধান বিশেষজ্ঞ এবং সাবেক প্রধান বিচারপতিদের সঙ্গেও বৈঠক করবে কমিটি। আজ মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে সংসদ ভবনে বিশেষ কমিটির বৈঠকে এসব সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়। কমিটির সভাপতি ও সংসদ উপনেতা সৈয়দা সাজেদা চৌধুরী সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন।
